Workshop 5 Storyboarding (re)presenting representations

Getting an understanding of the mediation between traditional 2D representations and thinking through multiple dimensions in space. The building chosen for this project is Goldsteln College in campus and the project is worked as two person group. Tutors asked us to wall around the building and observed the nearby environment to explore a perspective we interested in. Since it was a rainy day, the reflection of water in the pool and the glass attract us, and Reflection became our theme of final model.

In order to represent the 2D reflection in 3D presentation, we tried to use several layer of transparent plastic paper to demonstrate it. Several photos were taken from the place, modified by photoshop and printed on the transparent paper. After the trying of some different combination, we decided to put trees and leaves on the top and water image at the bottom. The sculpture image is divided into 3 different colors and combined together to give a 3D result.  Each sheet was framed by foam board which could be considered as the frame of the pool. Some small sheets of non-color plastic paper were used for connection between layers, and they also give a effect of suspension.

This is the first time I tried to represent the 2D concept in 3D space and worked as a small group in Architecture courses. The process of discussiong and consultation is a way to get idea and exchange suggestion with others. This is also a way of architectural communation.
